Despite the circumstances, we have had an amazing half term. The vast majority of students have demonstrated their personal commitment to their educational journey through their engagement in learning at home or in the academy or a combination or both. Utilising learning through live lessons, Google Classroom, paper workpacks, accessing provision lessons in the academy, alternatives such as Oak Academy, BBC Bitesize… the list is endless. A huge shout out to students, staff and parents and carers for getting involved and for having resilience and meeting the challenge of change. It has not gone unnoticed.

Praise has been abundant. There are virtual stickers, postcards, phone calls, treats, letters. To the point I have exceeded my postal budget.

There are some huge changes within the academy ready for when you return. You will find the DT block has had an overhaul and that the art and photography team has relocated to join them. The whole block is looking amazing and we cannot wait to show it to you when ready and for students to finally use it.

I mentioned above about students returning to the academy. Hopefully we will know more after half term about this, when we do, we will communicate with you about our plans for this to ensure we do so safely. You might want to stock up on masks and check uniforms etc to be ready. Our remote learning and in academy provision will remain in place until such time.

Half term is here. The provision is closed. I would like all students and staff who have worked so hard to have a rest and recharge their batteries. Hopefully, the weather will allow some nice local walks to get some fresh air, enjoy a pajama day watching your favourite films and enjoy time with your family.

If your child was in the provision in the last few days of this final week and they receive a positive test please contact us on our enquiries email. Someone will then get back to you to discuss further whether we need to take further action.

Take care, stay safe and we look forward to the half term ahead.
