I love nothing more than when an email is sent to me like it did today. Miss Murthick, Year 7 Learning Manager sent me the following: “Wow, what an amazing start to the year! I am so proud of how year 7 has settled in after a very difficult past 6 months. They have faced new challenges every day which they have overcome with ease. It has been a pleasure to support them and I look forward to getting to know everyone. They really are such a polite, kind and caring year group who are also very organised. Well done to all Year 7, keep it up you’re doing amazing!” How utterly wonderful, an amazing start Year 7. You fully deserve the ACE (Academy Conduct Expectation) badges you received this week. Wear it with pride.
Careers Inc have started meeting Year 11 students today, aiming for all students in this year group to have had their first careers meeting by Christmas. Start thinking about those next steps!
Our attendance at present is well above the national average and the Wakefield average. Thank you to our young people for their resilience and desire to learn. Keep this going; be in our academy and learn whenever possible and safe to do so. Please also remember that the weather is changing, a waterproof coat is important to ensure students are warm and dry when learning.
