Students and staff have had an amazing first year as an academy within Outwood Grange Academies Trust. Their positive mind-set, dedication and support for one another have shone through.
Smiles abounded as students enjoyed the rewards of their hard work. Headlines to date show strong improvement in English and maths with 73% of students achieving a grade 4 or above in English and 72% in maths. Students achievements secured a 10% increase at Grade 5+ for combined English and Maths and a 14.5% increase at Grade 4+ ensuring students progression on to their chosen pathways at Post 16.
Principal Lisa Allott said, “These levels of achievement and success are testament to the hard work and resilience of our students, and the academy would like to thank parents, carers, families and friends for their support.”
Each student has achieved personal success, with just some of the many highlights including: Kian Eracovic with the highest personal progress score, Megan Reynolds with the highest attainment 8 score and Zachary Frankish for securing grade 9’s in all three sciences.
Mrs James, Executive Principal, enthused, “Praise goes to our students for their achievements. Outwood Academy Freeston is a rapidly improving school with a committed staff and excellent leadership who are determined to make this a school its community can be proud about. Well done!”
